REST IN PEACE

FR MAXIM CRASTA SJ

We are sad to inform you that Fr Maxim Crasta (Guj) 54 years age, 32 years in the Society of Jesus, 21 years as priest, has gone to his eternal abode around 5 pm this evening (19 January, 2021), at Our Lady of Pillar Hospital, Vadodara. He was suffering from Cancer. May the soul of Fr Maxim Crasta rest in peace!

He was born in 27^th December, 1966 in Bantwal, Manglore, Karnataka. He has a brother. Maxim belonged to Loretto Parish. He joined the Society of Jesus on 25^th July 1988. He pronounced his first vows on 31^st July 1990 at Sadhana Sadan, Sughad.

FR. GONZALEZ VALLES CARLOS SJ

We are sad to inform you that FR. GONZALEZ VALLES CARLOS SJ, fondly known as Fr Valles, 95 years old / 79 years in the Society of Jesus, 62 years as a priest, passed away on 09^th November, 2020 in Madrid, Spain. He belonged to Gujarat province and later transcribed to Spain.

Fr. Carlos Valles was born on 04 November, 1925, in Spain. He entered the Society of Jesus on 16 October 1941 Spain. He came to India in 1949. He was ordained on 24 March 1958. He pronounced his Final Vows on 2 February, 1961.

He taught for 22 years at St Xavier’s College Ahmedabad. He also stayed in the middle class families in Ahmedabad and cycled daily to teach in the College.

He has contributed a lot in the field of education, (especially preparing textbooks of Mathematics), and in the field of literature in Gujarati, English and Spanish. The fruits of his literary work – 78 books collection of his writings, 24 books in English and 42 books in Spanish. Some of his works are translated in other languages. He was the recipient of many awards, such as "Acharya Kakasaheb Kalelkar Award for Universal Harmony", and in 1997 the "Ramakrishna Jaidalal Harmony Award" for the recognition of his works.

May the good Lord grant Fr. Valles eternal rest. May his soul rest in peace.
